
All lakes and streams within the refuge are Open to fishing, with the exception of areas closed to Public Entry. Sport Fishing at Moosehorn follows all Maine State Fishing regulations. See for more information State Regulations and Licenses.
Fishing is permitted one half hour before sunrise to one half hour after sunset during seasons prescribed by the state of Maine. Brook trout inhabit steams and beaver flowages, while smallmouth bass, yellow perch and chain pickerel may be found in lakes and ponds. Outboard motors (including electric) are not permitted on waters of the wilderness areas.

Boat access is provided at Bearce Lake (no motors) and Vose Pond. Boat ramps should be used for launching only. Vehicles are prohibited from parking on boat ramps, please park off to the side so others can access the ramp.
Small-mouth bass, yellow perch, brook trout, and chain pickerel are the most common species caught by anglers. Lead tackle is prohibited on all national wildlife refuges.
