Gertie the Bolson tortoise

Gertie the Bolson tortoise was first found by scientists in the early 1970s in Mexico. She was already a large adult at that time and scientists estimate she was at least 30 years old at that time. As of 2023 she is still in prime breeding years and lays eggs each year.
