This image was taken during the 2025 Waterfowl Breeding Population and Habitat Survey. Wetlands in central Newfoundland were in good condition after above average precipitation in April which helped alleviate abnormally dry conditions earlier in the year. Ice-out and snow melt came early offering potential for good waterfowl production.
