Public use of designated trails within the southern unit of the refuge is permitted from sunrise to sunset. The section of the refuge north of Route 2 is currently closed to public access. Visitors are required to stay on designated paths and trails.鈥疦o picking or disturbing wildlife or vegetation. Other than certified service animals,鈥痙ogs are not allowed on the refuge.鈥疻hile visiting, please keep in mind the time of year and weather conditions and dress appropriately and plan accordingly. This includes, bug repellant, sunscreen and hats in the warmer months, many layers in the cooler months, and always remember water, snacks, and a cell phone.鈥疕ikers鈥痯lease have winter etiquette while on trails and do not step on ski tracks; walkalong aside when available.
