Wapack NWR is viewed by many as a 鈥渉iker鈥檚 refuge鈥. Many people visit the refuge specifically to hike its trails. The final four miles of the 21 mile-long Wapack Trail begins at the southern boundary of the refuge, ascends and passes over the summit of North Pack Monadnock 鈥 affording beautiful views of the surrounding landscape 鈥 before descending and continuing north to the trailhead on Old Mountain Road in Greenfield (NH). A number of other trails 鈥 Ted鈥檚, Carolyn鈥檚, and the Cliff Trail 鈥 offer additional opportunities to experience the refuge and its wildlife.
