About Justin “J� Shirley
Justin “J� Shirley dedicated over 22 years to the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, where he held a variety of law enforcement positions before serving as the agency’s director for the final three and a half years of his career. Throughout his tenure, he demonstrated a steadfast commitment to conservation, public service, and the protection of wildlife and natural resources.
With a deep passion for the outdoors and a strong belief in collaborative problem-solving, J has worked tirelessly and been instrumental in building and strengthening partnerships across agencies, communities, and stakeholder groups. His leadership helped advance numerous projects aimed at preserving habitat, enhancing wildlife populations, and fostering stewardship among the public.
J graduated with a BS and MS degree from Brigham Young University in Wildlife and Range Resources. He loves spending time with his wife and four kids in the mountains and deserts of Utah hiking, hunting, birding, and fishing.
