Sewee Center grounds and Nebo trail and Nebo ponds are open to pedestrian access during daylight hours when the front entrance gate is closed. Visitors must park outside the gate, on the paved road shoulder. Please do not block the entrance gate.

Bulls Bay Nature and Heritage Festival May 17, 2025

The tenth annual Bulls Bay Nature and Heritage Festival comes to the Lowcountry Saturday May 17, 2025! Activities include fishing, kayaking, archery, wildlife and plant walks, live bird, wolf, reptile and raptor programs, historic tours, Gullah Geechee stories, photography walks and kids' activities. Enjoy live music, exhibitors, arts and crafts and food vendors throughout the day. Dr Richard Porcher, noted author, historian, and professor emeritus of The Citadel, presents "Black Labor, White Rice" at 4:00 pm. Activities take place at Cape Romain NWR, Francis Marion NF, and Hampton Plantation State Historic Site. The Sewee Visitor and Environmental Education Center, 5821 North Highway 17, Awendaw is the central location for the Festival. This one-day event is Free of Charge.
