2025 Haying Opportunities at Upper Souris National Wildlife Refuge

Upper Souris National Wildlife Refuge is offering 8 haying opportunities for 2025. Haying is used to manage grassland habitat by providing diverse vegetation structure structure
Something temporarily or permanently constructed, built, or placed; and constructed of natural or manufactured parts including, but not limited to, a building, shed, cabin, porch, bridge, walkway, stair steps, sign, landing, platform, dock, rack, fence, telecommunication device, antennae, fish cleaning table, satellite dish/mount, or well head.

for nesting birds and other wildlife. Hay units range in size from 30 to 70 acres. 

Bids must be received (not post-marked) by 2:30 pm on Monday, July 28, 2025. Sealed bid application envelopes must be mailed or hand-delivered to: Upper Souris National Wildlife Refuge 17705 212th Ave NW Berthold, ND 58718. Phone call submissions will not be accepted. 

Bidders will be notified of results as soon as possible, with haying permitted to begin August 1, 2025.
