Overview
Hedyotis megalantha, a member of the Rubiaceae (coffee) family, is an erect herb to 70 cm (27.6 in) tall or more, branched, glabrous, stems 4-angled, leaves chartaceous 9 to 11 cm (3.5 to 4.3 in) long and 3 to 4.5 cm (1.2 to 1.8 in) wide. Inflorescence is a lax, divaricately branched leafy panicle up to 30 cm (11.8) long. Flowers are 4-merous with a white corolla, 12 to 14 mm (0.5 to 0.6 in) long, 3 mm (0.1 in) wide, and 4-lobed. Capsules are ovoid, 3 mm (0.1 in) wide and crowned by the calyx lobes. Seeds are black and sharply angled, about 1 mm (0.04 in) long.
